Welcome Addresses

January - March 2014 Edition

Editor-in-Chief Welcome Address

It is with great & exceeding joy that we present to you the second edition of the Light House Youth/Singles fellowship quarterly bulletin "Stand Out". If you think the first edition was great, then get ready for a greater experience. From some of the feedbacks we got from you, we decided to do even more for you. That simply means you are going to be seeing new and more interesting columns.
Our aim as usual, is to capture the heart of every individual for Christ, letting them know they don't have to be conformed to this world, (Romans 12:2) but they need to build themselves on their most holy faith by exposing themselves to the things of God (Jude 20).
The media today is filled with so many deadly information that can destroy the reasoning of people. Instead of news that will inspire people, what you see on the media are news that will weaken the hope one has in God. Contrary to the beliefs of the world that bad news travels fast, I counter it to say, it is simply because the good people have been intimidated to spread the news. We are not intimidated by the happenings of the world, we serve a living God who is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), so we have decided to be the ambassador of the good news that Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:11) and that good shall always prevail over evil.
I want to quickly use this medium to appreciate everyone that supported us financially and intellectually to make this 2nd edition a success. May God richly bless you in Jesus Name (Amen). I pray that as you go through this bulletin, your lives will not remain the same again in Jesus Name (Amen).
Happy Reading.

October - December 2013 (Maiden) Edition

Maiden Welcome Address from the President’s Desk...

It is with great joy that we present the maiden edition of STAND OUT a quarterly publication of RCCG, The Light House Youth & Singles Fellowship. In a world that is ridden with social and moral decadence, it is pertinent that Christian Youths recognize their place in this world. You were not created to be just a number or one of the many billions of people on the earth; rather you were created for a purpose. You cannot afford to live your life as others do. Remember, we are pilgrims journeying through earth and irrespective of the number of years you spend on earth you have to make it count positively.

As a young man/lady, standing out implies that you arise from mediocrity, lacklustre or dejection and shine, because God’s Glory is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). We should understand that God’s Glory alone will be the source of light in the New Jerusalem where there will be no night (Revelation 21:23). Hallelujah! What a privilege for such Glory to be upon you. It would therefore be an abuse of His Glory to remain ordinary and not stand out or be distinct. 1 Peter 2:9 explicitly states that, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people called out of darkness into Gods marvelous light, therefore you ought to show forth God’s praises” by being unique.

Like Daniel, refuse to defile yourself with portions of immorality, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life that the world offers. Of a truth, the flesh would constantly war against the spirit (Galatians 5:17) but like the three (3) Young Men in Daniel 3, when faced with challenging and tempting situations refuse to bow down to your fleshy desires, choosing to obey God rather than allow yourselves to be slaves of sin.

I conclude by borrowing from the words of Bono, and I quote “When the story of these times get written, we want it to say that we did all we could, and it was more than anyone could have imagined”. As you read through this bulletin, I pray you will be richly blessed in Jesus Name. Stand Out and let your life count.
